Aging out occurs when a child in custody reaches the age of 18+ and whose exit reason is emancipation. Note that the length of time in foster care is baed on the total time a child spend in foster care across all PAs. Fro example, if a child had two PAs, the days in care in each PA are counted. Additionally, days in care after age 18 are also counted.
